Business Objects XI R3

Hi,

Currently we are using Business Objects XI R2. i heard that the upgrade to XI R3 can be done at no cost. Currently we are using only WEBI, Universe and Crystal Reports in Business Objects

Can you advice is it worth to migrate to BO XI R3. Can you also list on the advantages (like performance or any additional features in BO XIR3) in going for it.

You can get all the additional features of XI 3.x from what’s new guides from http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/.

Please be aware that the “no cost” part only applies to the customers who have a support and maintenance contract with SAP. You did not mention you have such contract or not.

Note that there is always a cost. Maybe not additional license fees but the time you spend with the upgrade, etc.

If you are a full-time employee, your time is considered “sunk cost”. They have to pay you no matter what.
