BO 4.1, Upload/Import Descriptions?

Aoha all,

We’re a new BO shop, but have an experienced designer. We’ve hit a wall with the descriptions for terms in the universe and how to get them from their current source (Excel, SQL, Informatica Metadata, heck we’ll use smoke signals if it will make it work). It seems inconceivable that the only way to put descriptions in place is to type them (or copy/paste) manually.

Is there in import function for the universe or repository? A way to leverage the API? We’d hate to go to the monkeys-with-typewriters solution.

Thanks, I saw that.

Much like the MITI-based Informatica tools, this needs to be for the IDT app in 4.1 and these are looking for the former Design.exe.

.UNV no longer runs the show and .UNX seems to be a lonely place!

It still seems incredible that this isn’t a core piece of the software. You can’t import descriptions from a table or spreadsheet? “Thou shalt type”?
