Best Option to Link Excel Data

I have an excel file which needs to be created each day. The data in this file is created from 3 different data sources but I want the users in many various locations to access the Excel content via BO.

I have tried linking to the Excel file and this works but when I try to refresh the data I get the following error “Automation exception BusinessObjects server process raised an automation exception. (Error: BOMGR 0060) IDispatch error #109”

I am thinking now that the best way is to create a universe based on the excel data. Would this be the best approach and if so how can I get the new daily excel data into the universe.
