BCA Questions

Let me explain what I have to do , I have 7 reports which I need to schedule for broadcast
at end of every month , I want them to be printed at different client location, Now what I have done is create a user group that has name of all locations say Phoenix LosAngeles Boston etc now what I an thinking is go to every report call file/sendto/BCA then I get a
options box in that I set up the printer id (For testing I am using my default printer) after that I am saying OK to that dialog box

Now My Questions are

  1. What ever I have done till now is it enough

  2. What access do I need in BCA

  3. I need to set up rowlevel security to every print station like Phoenix will have security for only
receiving data for its own division same with LA Boston etc where do I do that

  4. do I have to schedule BCA for every report every location , because report is same but printer
is different (Is there a shortcut)

  5. What are the issues that may or can come up if any

I have to say I never try to print from BCA, so I can’t say how to configure print, but:
1/ be careful adressing printers (as filesystems): it depends which is the system you’re scheduling on. Probably the best way is to schedule from the bca server (so if you see cfg printers, they are avaiilable)
2/ I use to create a dedicated group to BCA (as property of the group, where I insert users needing BCA. so you need to belong from a group where bca is enabled on. Then you need to have rights on the used universe, you need the suitable profile for the document you refresh (webi, bo…)
3/ first, you need dimensions you want to segregate available on universer’ tables. ?Then you must be sure all possible queiies resolved by the universe have always at least a condition based on your segregation. Then you apply conditions for segregation on the universe using supervisor
4/ yes, I think so (printer is not associated with user). As you have to submit five times, you could have five documents (you avoid to set up segregation, coding conditions in each document). Otherwise, being relevant for formatting the cfg printer on the server, you could create five pdf with one bca job with five profiles, then deliver the result to the rpinters with some os utility
5/ being wan and remote sites involved, synchronization and recovery tasks could be critical
