Applying custom ACL to universe user security

I have migrated from XI R2 to 3.1 SP5 and in XI R2 I had the universe access controlled by user groups and each user group had view on demand rights to the universe.
In 3.1 I want to make this security more granular and apply custom ACL’s to the groups.
I have over 100 universes and need to change the view on demand ACL on these to my custom ACL. Is there any way of changing these in bulk or do I need to go into each universe and for each of the assigned groups change the ACL manually?
