Is there any way to alert on data in a graph, like one would use the alerter in a table?

It wouldn’t make sense to do that. The alerters are designed to highlight tabular data. That’s why the alerters button goes gray when you select a chart.

You have already had a reply that says you can’t, which is true. I haven’t managed anything with lines and area charts. With pies and bars though I work around by creating a dimension object based on a range of values e.g. in Oracle DECODE(TRUNC(RANGE/5,0),1,‘0-4’,2,‘5-9’,3,‘10-14’,4,‘15+’) and graphing the counts of records in this range. Next I format most values in variations of black shading but using red for the values I am interested in. This means they always highlight on the graph if present.
This isn’t as flexible or elegant as alerters but it suits most of my needs and of course it only works where the absolute alerted values are known beforehand and certainly doesn’t cover every use of alerters.

We put in an Enhancement Request several months ago. As it turned out, we were the sixth customer to do so. It will be included in a future request, but I don’t know when.
