For “Serious” Data Mining - click on the graph supplied by KDNugget to see the results of a survey - I had not heard of most of the solutions on the list - weka being one i had looked at last year prior to it being adopted by Pentaho.
RapidMiner site with KDNugget graph listing them at 3rd: http://rapid-i.com/content/view/65/66/lang,en/

Hi,
You can also google open-source BI.
A lot of software are now very offensive in terms of functionalites and benefit from other vendors experience.

I mean no disrespect, but… this site doesn’t appear to have much educational value. It seems to mostly be people seeking BO jobs or interview questions. I don’t think it’s in the spirit of this thread.

Hmm - pity it doesn’t have a language link - I’ve come cross a few french, dutch and indian and haven’t posted them here due to them not having an enlgish view option.
I wonder if the BI vendors have pushed the same marketing angle as MicroSoft - selling the products to the chinese at a major discount

Ralph Kimball just released the second edition of ‘The Data Warehouse Lifecycle Toolkit’
I just ordered it, so I dont know how it is yet, but the first one was great. I highly recommend it!

Hi,
A slight correction to Vince’s post. IQTrainwrecks.com is maintained by the IAIDQ (International Association for Information & Data Quality). The Association’s main site is at www.iaidq.org .
It might look like a personal blog because, as VP Publicity for the IAIDQ, I tend to write most of the posts based on member submissions and my own review of the media.
