Hi,
Few of our users complining that they were getting WI0100 (This page is empty) error when they ran the query in WebI.
if they refresh IE then the data is displaying
the report contains prompts and the size of the report is 43k
I checked the options and they set to “full java applet” and “enhanced document format”.
we have manager and cluster node and the setting on manager is as follows.
Max WQIT Inactive Time set to 300 secs and Max WQIT active Time set to 3600 secs in WIGenerator
Session Timeout is set to 7200 secs in WISessionManager,
Timeout for Interactive actions is set to 120 mins in BOManager.
the error is due to these paramters? do I need to modify these parameter values?
I am not able to understand why users getting this error and if they do IE refresh how its displaying the data?
we are on BO 5.1.9, Oracle, win2k sp4
can any body have a solution for this… will be apprecietd.
Hi Mike,
This happens to one report only. I dont think spyware or popup blockers enabled would be the issue because other reports runs fine.
The issue is with this report only which have 5 prompts.
Then your original assumption is correct - sounds like the session has expired whilst waiting for the result set, but your session timeout is higher than the WIQT/WIGenerator.
I’m guessing that the enhanced document formatting is taking too long, so try doing something about that. The obvious solution is to up the seesion time, but you might want to try disabling the enhanced format or shortening the number of rows per page - not sure if it will help, but definitely play with formatting options first.
Mike,
I tried changing options to Optimized for my browser settings, standard HTML format but still same problem. some times the report displays and some time gives error “This page is Empty” and if I refresh IE then data is going to display.
I tried by changing Max Inactive time to 7200 but no luck.
Mike,
I am getting this error only if I select the option “show prompts within the report” in Document settings. If I uncheck this option then every thing working fine.
any idea why this happens ? any other way to resolve this?
thanks for your responses…
Moderators do I need to move this post to Reports section? [Moderator Reply: No, I don’t see why. It relates to WebI, doesn’t it?]
thanks
Typically a result set is returned as 50KB in packets or 64K pages, so as an overall performance enhancement you could alter that (not advised as the network guys get edgy when you change default packet sizes).
Maybe apply compression to help reduce overall network times for the BO reports?
Have you applied list of values caching per user session in the admin console?
What’s your session reactivation period set to?
The best thing is to set all tracing activity on to see what’shappening in the background.
Did you try reducing the number of lines per page?
The compression has to be applied on the server and there are a few methods for IIS - Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate etc.
I think I was mistaken with the WILoginServer rfresh and cache - it’s version 6 specific.
What’s the ASP script timeout set to on the server? Use the Internet Information Services tool on the server - normally you get an error message but someone could have changed the error message levels so that you don’t see that you are reaching the ASP script timout when building the report.
Hi Peacock,
We are using IE 6.0 xpsp2.
wht do you mean by full address
I dont think its IE issue, because it happenes to one report with error “This page is Empty” on first time users run, if they refresh IE then its displaying data.
