[Edit - Made this topic a “Sticky” as a lot of folks seem to be looking for 6.1b info. - Dave]

I am being told 6.1b is going to be released next week and addresses many bugs. I am being told alot of the bugs are around using Tomcat as the application server.
We are using Tomcat and 6.1a and are having alot of problems I am being told 6.1b addresses.
Apparently people using a different app server like WebSphere or Weblogic are not having the same issues I am having with 6.1a.
I thought I would pass this along just in case it is useful to anyone else.
Problems with 6.1a and Tomcat? Applet time out errors. JVM errors. JVM out of memory errors. Full Client reports don’t work or quit working. BCA is unstable. Just to name a few.
Tomcat Out of memory issue/JVM error can be resolved using JAVA_OPTS or CAROLINA_OPTS parameters.Take a look at jakarta.apache.org website on how to do it or search google…
I have one issue about full client document with prompt, where time to display prompt is not very consistant…
I have seen inconsistant prompt appearance and I haven’t pin pointed any reason for it so far. I just heard from our sales rep that 6.1b indeed will be available within a week.
Thanks for the heads up and tips. We too are having issues with full client document prompts. It appears after the server has been running for a while, it just hangs on “Processing document” and never shows the prompts at all and after along period of time, it times out.
Restarting the server fixes the problem for me and then the prompts appear rather quickly.
Just noting that while it’s there – just on the download site, not updated on the PAR or anything – the only 61b at the moment is for Windows (as of 7:43am Eastern time!). Anyone have any sense of how quickly other versions (AIX in particular) will follow, when PAR will be updated, etc.? They could just be in the middle of posting things, of course…
