If I have a mixed Unix and Windows WebI cluster, how can I guarantee that certain users and/or BO Full Client documents are processed by the Windows servers (for example if the document contains VBA macros)?
BO Manager is running on the Unix servers and the Windows servers within the WebI cluster.
How about employing some external Routers and going for a multi master kind of setup, where every machine in a cluster is a MASTER and routing is done by External routers.
Thank you, but I am not looking to deploy routers or using multiple clusters. Even using your approach how would I decide if a BO document contains VBA macros and therefore needs to be routed to a Windows server with BO Manager on it instead of a Unix server (which cannot process VBA macros)?
Scenario: One mixed cluster (Unix and Windows servers)
Problem: How to direct certain users to certain servers within the cluster?
I do not want for the users to have to know which WebI cluster they have to pick. BO should preferably “figure” that part out and route the document to the correct WebI node (Windows WebI node for documents with VBA macros, otherwise to the Unix nodes).
It sure looks like it could help. Just keep in mind that BO services is selling this in Europe. You’d have to make sure you had someone who knows how to do this.
