Is there a way to download only a subset of a given reports data from Webi?
For example, I have a report that shows Month, Account, Amount. When refreshed it will show all months for all accounts. I have drill mode selected so the users can select, say, just the month of July. They want to then download just July’s data but when they hit download it downloads all the data for all months. Is there a way to limit it this to just the month they selected?
Not exactly – but here’s something you can play with. The problem you’re encountering is that “download” downloads the underlying Data Cube, not what’s displayed on the report.
So, here’s one way to get what’s displayed on the report:
First, get all of the data to display in the given HTML page. (Go to the settings tab of the query panel - Java applet – and change the number of rows per page to exceed the total you have.)
Then, instead of using “download”, click the report frame to make it active. Then do a File - “Save as” to save that HTML frame.
You can then go into Excel and open the HTML document.
