BO version 5.1.4 VS 5.1.3

i have been using BO 5.1.3 for sometime and whenever is link 2 Data provider, i need to use the isnull function to filter blank records … as linking this 2 DP is like a union.

recently i started using 5.1.4 and i notice that when i link the 2 DP, automatically BO has filter those blank records like using an “in” function… i don’t have to use the isnull function … is this true that 5.1.4 eliminate blank records ?? if yes, good but what if i want to see all the records, how to i tell BO to show all??

any other different with this 2 version beside above ???

I can’t answer your specific question, but in terms of other differences, probably the best places to look would be the 5.1.4 readme file.

The way the calculation engine works was changed starting with version 5.1.4

From Business Objects documentation :

Obtaining 5.1.3 results in 5.1.4+
You make version 5.1.4+ behave like 5.1.3 by “forcing” it to account for empty values. To do this, incorporate an object from the first data provider into the filter definition.
If you change the filter definition in the above example from
<Revenue(Q2)> <> 2451104 to
(<Revenue(Q2)> <> 2451104) and (<Country(Q1)> = <Country(Q1)>),
the result is the same as the 5.1.3 result. By including an object, Country(Q1), from the first data provider, you force BusinessObjects to take the empty value into account.

Changes were made to the calculation engine in version 5.1.4. The changes have an impact on global filters, complex filters and incompatible objects in the same block.

Further changes are made in version 6.0. These changes have an effect on the count function, filtering on empty values, filters on master detail reports containing incompatible objects, rankings, the NoFilter function and duplicate row aggregation.
