How to Compare with previous value

Hi

I have a task to load the data into target with seperate field which should contain sequence numbers with group wise.

Eg:
Sno Rank
1 1
1 2
1 3
2 1
2 2

here we need to compare the current Sno with previous Sno. Can anybody advise how to compare these?
