Using v3.1 SP3…
I can’t find any other postings relating to this subject, but can anyone confirm the following, or otherwise:
In Deski:
Having removed all LOVs from my PC, I create a new report in with a Condition based upon an Objects value which was retrieved from an LOV. The LOV is created in:
D:\Users\BOB1\Application Data\Business Objects\Business Objects 12.0\Universes@bobj_prod\U_CMC\CMC - Phase 5\objec012.lov
When changing the query to use a different value, the LOV is not refreshed unless I force it to do so.
LOVs remain after quitting the Deski. Application.
In WRC:
Creating the same report as above, the LOV is created in:
D:\Users\BOB1\Local Settings\Temp\RichClient.160\1\lov_00\AaSO7GpfcbtCpEuZlxwL5Q0\UNIVERSELOV_DS0.DO25.lov
When changing the query to use a different value, the LOV is always refreshed (even though in the Universe this option is not selected).
If I then create a new report, identical to the first one, a second LOV is created in:
D:\Users\rBOB1\Local Settings\Temp\RichClient.160\2\lov_00\AR.w2a2QnBBHgjSOKsM254Q\UNIVERSELOV_DS0.DO25.lov
LOVs are deleted when quitting the WRC application.
So, in summary:
In Deski, LOVs are:
-
Linked to the Universe
-
Only refreshed once, unless forced to do otherwise
-
Retained permanently
In WRC LOVs are:
-
Linked to the individual reports
-
Always refreshed when used
-
Temporary, and deleted when closing the application.
