Dear all, I wonder of you are able to advise;
We are experiencing very slow performance for opening full-client Business Objects documents with WebI even on the same server (ie taking network bottlenecks out of the equation).
We’re using the latest version of BO ie 5.1.5 and WebI 2.7.1
A 414K report takes 4:45 and it looks like just about all of the time is
taken translating the full client document into the metafile. I deleted
all cached versions off the Storage directory on the BO server and then
downloaded it from scratch.
We are using IE 5.5 and Oracle 8.1.7.4
For one report I just downloaded it takes 178 from clicking on the
document in Corporate Documents view in InfoView until its displayed & of
this its taking 99 secs to execute GetPageBOMetaFile - opening &
tranlating the full client document to the compressed metafile that is
streamed using HTTP
I did some testing opening the report using Full client on the server and it took 2 mins 4 secs to open the report. Saving the report as HTML on the server took 28 seconds and Opening the HTML on a browser on the server took 25 seconds.
Refreshing takes about 10 seconds (4 secs and 6 secs respectively for the two queries) running the raw SQL in TOAD and 46 seconds (28 secs and 18 secs respectively) to refresh the data in BO.
NB We are more concerned about opening reports from the Corporate documents repository and NOT refreshing them at the moment so we don’t introduce the db as another variable.
Problem Not specific to one report
Have tried it with both Enhanced and HTML only with no noticeable difference; mostly have used Enhanced mode
Changing setting to Store HTML in document made no difference
Any ideas very welcome. Thanks very much
