I am trying to create a Waterfall chart in Xcelsius using a stacked column chart…I have seen a post in this forum(the link which i have given below) where it works for positive values…but i have negative values as well in the range…Can we achieve waterfall??
ok, if you need something that looks exactly like that image, then you can make two stacked column charts.
One has the Actual $ Bar, then 4 blank series, then the bar for $ Budget.
The next chart has the 4 series (east / west/ etc), and would be made in the fashion I listed above.
You can remove all visible options for the first chart (e.g. chart area, axis, series names, legend, etc) Put the 2nd on top of the first, and carefully line up the axis, so that the two charts share the same axis. The minimum scale property of the 2nd chart shoule be = (Actual $) * -1, And the size of divisions property should also be = (Actual $)
Addtional formatting will be required.
From an end user perspective, they cannot tell they are looking at two charts.
To the poster: you may include information in your signature, as you have done. However, you may not post simply to point people to your signature. Your post must contain something of value other than “see sig for solution.” Thanks for understanding.
To create the waterfall chart: Select cells A1:F17 – the heading cells and data – but don’t include the column with the Net Cash Flow numbers. On the Excel Ribbon, click the Insert tab, and click Column Chart, then click Stacked Column
