I have BO XI r3 installed with admin access to it & I want to implement user level folder access.
i.e.
There are 3 folders, Folder A, Folder B, Folder C.
Same way there are 3 Users: User X, User Y, User Z.
Now, I want that User X would only have access to Folder A; User Y would only have acess to Folder A and Folder B & User Z would have acess to all the folders.
Are you asking for a user based security rather than a group, where each user belongs to a group and the security can be set on each folder.
If it is so then
give Everyone group access level as ‘view’ on the root folder (All folders)
set the parent functional group (for eg Production) access level as ‘view’ on the root folder
Assign Everyone group & Production group as ‘No Access’ on parent folder (having sub-folders A, B & C)
give user A ‘view’ access level on Folder A.
Similarly user Y set to ‘View’ access level for folders A & B, user Z set to ‘View’ access level for all the three folders
